heavy former) that you can't otherwise one-shot with your current weapon.
I'd imagine i'd want more open areas when i'm maining a hunter rifle, that kind of deal. And i noticed branches are different in layout enough to change what i'd like to enter given what my setup is. I may also be missing a bit of the metagame of when should i be ducking into special areas like the Callisto Anomaly through the Mines, or instead waiting out hoping for a Military Barracks spawn in the main Callisto map. I get that it's a rogue-like, but is there a lot of trial-and-error until you just get the seeds and spawns that help you? (I only got to Io on Agent of Shotgunnery since i literally was showered with 10+medpacks and 4+armors and repair kits) Part of the problem i have is just random ♥♥♥♥ luck, opening a door and getting shotgunned to the face for 80% hitpoints, rockets out of nowhere, that kind of deal. At most i reached the Summoner once, the Beyond area a few times, but i think only once was it on medium, the rest were easy runs. I always end up out of ammo or out of healing options by late game. I have a decent grasp of the mechanics and i've gotten tons better, but actually finishing a run just eludes me. I've gotten to Io with all the challenges minus the one locked behind Sergeant.
So i've been playing JH a fair bit now, started on 0.8.3 and while i've played roguelikes, i haven't played the original DoomRL.
